This compact system's main speaker features a convenient built-in dock that charges your player. Two high-performance 3-1/2" woofers and 1/2" tweeters deliver plenty of musical detail. The included wireless subwoofer uses a 6" driver to produce full, clean bass, and you can place it just about anywhere in your room.

The provided remote lets you adjust the volume, and gives you basic control over your iPod — play, pause, and start songs from across the room. You can connect the system to your TV and show photos and videos from your docked player. And you can play other portable devices through the Horizon i-DS3 plus using the system's auxiliary input.

Features

Overview: The Boston Acoustic Horizon i-DS3 Plus is a compact iPod dock speaker system which consists of an iPod dock speaker unit and a wireless powered subwoofer. The Horizon i-DS3 Plus features high performance full-range speakers, an acoustically tuned chamber for maximum bass, a wireless powered subwoofer, 100 watts of total system power, and an IR wireless remote that puts you in control of your iPod from across the room.

iPod Dock Speaker Unit: The iPod dock speaker unit features dual 3-1/2" woofers and dual high-frequency tweeters in separate acoustic chambers that are vented for extend bass response. The speakers are powered by an internal two-channel amplifier for high performance sound reproduction. The iPod dock speaker unit features a top-mounted Apple iPod dock to connect your iPod. The i-DS3 Plus supports audio playback, basic control, and charging of select iPods. The unit also allows you to transmit video from select iPods to your television via its S-video or composite video output. Using the supplied iPod adapter inserts (8 total), the i-DS3 Plus can support many iPods that feature a dock connection from iPod 4th generation to the iPod touch, as well as the iPhone. The i-DS3 Plus supports the following iPod models.

Wireless Powered Subwoofer: The wireless powered subwoofer receives audio from the iPod dock speaker unit via 2.4GHz RF technology (there are no cables to run between these two components). The wireless powered subwoofer features a down-firing 6.0" subwoofer in a high-gloss, bass-reflex enclosure with a down-firing port. The 6.0" subwoofer features a paper-laminated cone woofer and a foam surround. The wireless powered subwoofer features a fixed low-pass crossover and there is a volume control on the rear-panel of the wireless powered subwoofer to adjust the level of the subwoofer.

Bass Track Audio Processing: The i-DS3 Plus uses BassTrac audio processing for great sounding bass at any volume level.

Wide Stereo Effect: The i-DS3 Plus features a Wide Stereo Effect mode which provides a broader soundstage for your music.

ID Switches: Both the main speaker and the subwoofer had Wireless ID switches. The various switch settings (1-4) change the frequency of the wireless signal the main speaker sends to the subwoofer. The two switches must be set the same channel.

Line Input: The iPod dock speaker unit features an analog stereo audio RCA input for connecting an external audio device other than an iPod. The Boston Acoustic system also comes supplied with a 5' stereo RCA cable.

Wireless Remote Control: The i-DS3 Plus comes supplied with an IR wireless remote control to operate the main speaker unit and your docked iPod. The supplied wireless remote control can operate basic playback functions of your docked iPod such as Play, Pause, Fast Forward, Rewind, Next Track, Previous Track, Random, and Repeat. Your docked iPod's controls will also remain fully functional for advanced playback and menu features. The remote control, as well as the iPod dock speaker unit features power and volume controls.

Automatic Activation and Standby: The power switches on the back of the main speaker and the subwoofer can be left in in the On position. The i-DS3 Plus has a automatic power standby system. After a few minutes of inactivity the amplifier in the main speaker unit and powered subwoofer go into standby mode. As soon as the i-DS3 Plus receives a signal from the iPod the amplifier automatically turn on again.

Power Supply: The Boston Acoustic Horizon i-DS3 Plus operates off of standard household AC current. The iPod dock speaker unit features an external power supply and 6' AC power cable. The wireless powered subwoofer features a 6' AC power cable
